The Tinker’s Son  Irish Pub and restaurant is located  in Norwell Center offers  Irish comfort foods, a warm atmosphere and of course pints of Murphy’s, Guinness, Magners and Smithwick’s.  The old tradition of Irish hospitality abounds here!   Chef-owner Brian Houlihan serves up the kind of food that makes you feel warm all over. Brian grew up in Ireland, moved to the States when he was eighteen, and has worked in some of Boston’s best restaurants. So when he opened The Tinker’s Son in the 2009 he wanted to recreate the Irish Pubs of his homeland, pouring perfect pints, and serving fantastic food. The Tinker’s Son has won the Best Irish Pub of the South Shore and the Best Late Night Hangout.    Brian also owns the Bia Bistro Restaurant in Cohasset. 

They are open for breakfast Saturday and Sunday at 10am. They have a a la carte   menu on both weekend morning and Sunday mornings they have a full brunch with typical brunch options but also plenty of Irish breakfast options including black and white pudding.

If you are coming for lunch or dinner there will  be food like traditional Shepherds Pie, served in a cast iron skillet, topped with golden mashed potatoes and gooey melted cheddar. “There’s nothing better you can eat on a cold winter’s night than the Shepherds Pie here… It’s basically comfort food at its best.”  When it comes to Mac and Cheese, The Tinker’s Son aims to please. It’s baked with a blend of Cheddar, Romano, and Swiss, which is great on it own, but even better when upgraded with Bacon and extra Cheddar, or Short Ribs and Blue Cheese. For some more beef and blue cheese, the Bacon Blue Burger is a half pound of certified angus, served on a grilled buttered bun. The steak tips are smothered in a rich Guinness Barbecue Sauce,

The Tinker’s Son truly is an authentic Irish Pub. It was named the place after a poem written by his father, that’s been painted on a wall of the dining room. There’s live music six nights a week, featuring traditional Irish songs  including the Sunday brunch. . And even the furniture has been brought in from Ireland.
