America’s Fleet Museum just got larger… We listened to our fans who wondered what it would be like to have the last US Navy Heavy Cruiser, USS Salem CA-139, join our hometown battleship, USS Massachusetts BB-59, in a single museum offering.
Battleship Cove in Fall River, MA and the US Naval Shipbuilding Museum in Quincy, MA are proud to announce this historical partnership with the new Kilroy Pass. Visitors can now see “The Witch” and BIG MAMIE with this two day discounted ticket that is good for one day at each museum.
Kilroy will most certainly be present as you visit three of the four remaining Bethlehem Steel Fore River Shipyard, Quincy, MA vessels surviving today that were built when James Kilroy worked at the yard during World War II. See the powerful 16″ guns of USS Massachusetts, the rapid fire 8″ guns of USS Salem, and an array of rockets and anti-submarine weaponry aboard USS Joseph P. Kennedy Jr DD-850.
If that was not enough, submarine USS Lionfish, two PT boats, and various other exhibits make this ticket an adventure like no other offered in the count

What a great testament to our veterans of all walks of life! My 15 year old son and I had a great time and will be back again! So much to see, and the volunteers we encountered were so nice and informative. Fantastic for kids of all ages, but I would caution the older, less abled folks to stick to the main decks as the ladder wells between decks are steep. But there is sooo much to see above and below decks. Thank you to all the volunteers for keeping such an important piece of U.S. living history alive!
My family and I were very impressed our visit to Battleship cove.
The size and great access you get while on board on the USS Massachusetts will surprise even the most knowledgeable WWII nerd. The ship is well curated and will guide people that do not know a lot about this kind of ship. It’s totally worth it.
This is a great place to take kids very educational very fun relaxing and entertaining! The carousel is awesome! I find that my children normally find carousels kind of slow and boring this one is faster than usual and way more fun! Just a great place to go and spend the day as a family. All ages enjoyed it all, from elderly mother (83) to youngest being 2 years old.
This is an amazing museum. It has 5 ships from World War II era. They were beautifully preserved. Three of them were available for touring through. One, the Kennedy, takes about 30 minutes to walk through. Be prepared for lots of staircases that seem more like ladders. The submarine, the Lionfish, was very interesting and enlightening. But be prepared: the halls are very narrow and I had to double over in order to make big steps through the hatches. The Massachusetts is a huge ship. It had 15 battle encounters in 1944 and 1945, and not a single crew member was killed. There are 4 tours you can follow – we did the outside tour first and then went inside to explore. Follow the arrows only loosely; the tours are not well marked. There are even more ladders on this ship since there are many more decks. There are many very interesting exhibits throughout the ship – some are better marked than others. It’s very easy to get lost in the bowels of this ship – there’s so much in it to see!
