Braintree: Braintree’s Memorial Day observance is scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday in the veterans section of Blue Hill Cemetery, 700 West St..
Cohasset: The annual Field of Honor at the 98 Summer St. traffic island in Cohasset has been filled with flags to honor those who gave their lives serving in the armed forces. The flags will stay up through June 5.
Duxbury: Duxbury American Legion Post 223 has placed U.S. flags at each veteran grave site in all Duxbury cemeteries and will honor veterans at those cemeteries on Memorial Day.
Hingham: Hingham’s annual Memorial Day observance will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 31, at town hall. The keynote speaker will be Col. Philip Anderson, who served almost 25 years in the U.S. Marine Corps before retiring in 2001.
Marshfield: The town will host its Memorial Day virtually Monday on Marshfield Cable TV. The Memorial Day ceremony traditionally held at Veterans’ Memorial Park will be replaced with a prerecorded Memorial Day ceremony
Milton: Milton’s Memorial Day ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. Monday at Milton Cemetery on Centre Street. The featured speaker will be U.S. Army veteran Rod Fritz, a former WBZ Radio broadcaster.
Plymouth: A small group will be visiting each memorial site from Memorial Drive (on the side of Memorial Hall) to the Plymouth Training Green from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday. There will be an honor roll reading on the steps of Memorial Hall at 11 a.m.,
Quincy Quincy will host a small ceremony at Merrymount Cemetery at 10 a.m. Monday, May 31.
Scituate: Memorial Day ceremonies will begin at 8 a.m. Monday. The harbormaster’s office will throw a wreath to honor those lost at sea.
The Rolling Thunder Veterans Motorcycle group will leave the Sgt. Michael J. Kelly Bridge on Route 3A at about 9:30 a.m. The motorcyclists will ride north on Route 3A to Scituate High School with a police escort.
There will be a dedication of the Chair of Honor at Scituate High School at 10 a.m., where players from the town’s football team will read the names of Scituate veterans who have been killed in action as well as those who died this year. Taps will be played, and there will be a rifle salute by members of American Legion Post 144.
Weymouth: A rolling parade will start at 11 a.m. Monday, May 31, at Weymouth High School and will proceed down Pleasant Street toward Jackson Square. Traditional Memorial Day observances, including rifle and taps salutes at cemeteries, will be recorded and shown on Weymouth Telecommunications Channel 11 at a later date.
