Day 131 Barker’s Tavern in Scituate

Sharing is caring!

The Barker Tavern is a fully-restored 17th-century house & garisson now in use as a  restaurant located in the quaint coastal town of Scituate south of Boston.  The atmosphere feels like you have walked back in time. In this historic building, the heavy beams and wooden walls, once pierced for portholes, bear witness to its use as a garrison house in 1676. Part of the original building is said to be the second oldest standing house in the United States. Today, crackling fires, rustic yet elegant décor and beautifully appointed tables embrace each guest like an old friend.

If you want a little more casual and less expensive  check out their pub. Walking into Eli’s Pub is like walking into a traditional New England pub: bracing drinks, fresh food, a warm and friendly environment, and of course, that one person who laughs a little too loud for the crowd. Kick back and enjoy yourself – you’re at Eli’s Pub!

Traditional dishes rule the menu but the swordfish and prime rib are the two dinners that everyone raves about. If you are going to come to Baker’s tavern make sure you make reservation via their website. Barker’s Tavern in Scituate
