Day 210 Best selling historical author book talk in Cohasset

Sharing is caring!

Nathaniel Philbrick New York Times best selling author  is coming to Cohasset, Mass. on Tuesday, May 17th at 7pm.  Mr Philbrick  will be talking about his latest book, The Last Stand: Custer, Sitting Bull, and Battle of the Little Bighorn.

Little Bighorn and Custer are names synonymous in the American imagination with unmatched bravery and spectacular defeat. Mythologized as Custer’s Last Stand, the June 1876 battle has been equated with other famous last stands, from the Spartans’ defeat at Thermopylae to Davy Crockett at the Alamo.

In 2000 he published In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex. This was followed by Sea of Glory: America’s Voyage of Discovery, The U.S. Exploring Expedition, in 2003. In 2006, Philbrick published a new history of the founding of the Plymouth colony in the United States, Mayflower: A Story of Courage, Community, and War. The Last Stand: Custer, Sitting Bull, and the Battle of the Little Bighorn was published in May 2010. He is presently at work on a book about Boston during the early years of the Revolution.

An Evening with Nathaniel Philbrick is presented by the Cohasset Library Trust, Inc.  Each year, a portion of the proceeds from the Trust’s investments is used to supplement the library budget, providing valuable resources to its patrons.

His presentation will take place at the Cohasset High School Auditorium at 7:00pm.

Sell out crowd is expected.
