Day 741 First Night Whitman 2013-2014
For the first time ever Whitman Massachusetts will be celebrating Whitman’s First Night, an outdoor New Years Eve Event that will help celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Toll House Chocolate chip cookie. . This event is for all ages so bring your children along and celebrate!  Whitman Center will be closed to traffic starting at 5PM on  December 31st 2013.
While the rest of the country watches the ball drop in New York City, residents of Whitman will be able to watch their town lower a giant Toll House cookie on New Year’s Eve. Whitman will drop a cookie 75 feet counting down to the new year,
The cookie will be part of Whitman’s inaugural First Night, which is being organized by the town’s Winterfest Committee.
First Night Buttons are available for purchase in many small businesses located in the center of town. You can purchase a button for $1 and all proceeds from button sales will be donated to the Whitman Food Pantry.

- A replica tollhouse cookie will be lowered in the center of town as we count down the last minute before 2014!
