Day 929 Milton Players Inherit the Wind in Canton MA

The Milton Players theater group  will perform  the Broadway play Inherit the Wind  at the Brayton Auditorium at the Massachusetts Hospital School in Canton as the first show in their 82nd season.    Each show will begin at 8pm on the nights of: October 31, November 1, November 7, and November 8  with a 2pm matinee this afternoon of November 9th.

Inherit the Wind is a play by Jerome Lawrence and Robert Edwin Lee. The play, which debuted in 1955, is a story that fictionalizes the 1925 Scopes “Monkey” Trial as a means to discuss the then-contemporary McCarthy trials.  The debate over creationism versus evolution has contemporary resonance, as evidenced by the play’s numerous revivals and screen adaptations decades after its initial theatrical run.

Friday and Saturday Cabaret Nights at 8:00 p.m.
