Alden House Historic Site Duxbury MA
Explore the legacy of Mayflower passengers John and Priscilla Mullins Alden at their family homestead in Duxbury, now designated a National Historic Landmark. The Alden House Historic Site is a perfect place to visit to learn about the history of the area.
Experience one of America’s founding stories on a tour of the historic Alden family home (open seasonally) and a walk to the nearby foundation of John and Priscilla’s original home site. Enjoy a trip back in time through one of the living history demonstrations or programs offered throughout the year. The Aldens were immortalized as one of America’s great love stories in Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s 19th century poem “The Courtship of Miles Standish.” Alden House is one of only three remaining Pilgrim family sites and the only one that has been continuously owned by the same Mayflower family. The museum is open for guided tours mid-May through mid-October Wednesday through Saturday from noon to 4 pm.
