The Scituate Chamber of Commerce Scituate Heritage Days is celebrating 55  years on Friday August 2nd Saturday August 3rd   and Sunday August 4th .  Over  54 years of making memories by hosting this premier South Shore free family friendly festive in Scituate Harbor.  There will be  Food, Artisans, Beer Garden, Boat Races, Kid’s Amusement Rides and much more!

Highlights include 

 

Scituate Heritage Days Purple Heart Luminaria Fri 8/2 7pm

In 2020 Scituate was proclaimed a Purple Heart Community, honoring the service and sacrifice of those from our community who were awarded the Purple Heart while serving in our nation’s wars. As we did then, we would like to light up the coastline in honor of Purple Heart Day. We would like to thank The Inn at Scituate Harbor, the Rotary Club of Scituate, MA, and American Legion Post 144, Scituate for their generous donations towards the purchase of Purple Luminaria bags to be given out to the community. After August 1st, you may pick up bags at The Inn at Scituate Harbor for your display.

Scituate Heritage Days Lighted Boat Parade Fri 8/2 830pm

Join in the fun of The Scituate Heritage Days Lighted Boat Parade and Blessing of the Fleet. No need to sign up. Boats will start lining up outside the harbor at the SA Buoy at 8:15 pm. The parade will enter the harbor and proceed to the Town Pier for a blessing. Docked boats are welcomed to participate as well. Viewing from Scituate Lighthouse, Museum Beach, Cole Parkway and First Cliff. Let’s Light Up The Harbor!

 

Rotary Club Of Scituate MA Annual Pancake Breakfast Sat 8/3 730-11am

Adults $9, Children 6-12 $5, Children Under 5 Free, Families $22  held at the Senior Center

Carnival Rides – Sat & Sun 11-5pm
North American Amusements will have rides for the little one  Tickets are cash only!!

Live Music
The music is definitely a highlight of the Heritage Days weekend, and this year the lineup will feature Booty Vortex, and many other great bands

 

Heritage Days Boat Races Sat  8/3 10-12pm

An old fashion boat race for all ages. Dories, rowboats, kayaks or make your own unique watercraft. No need to sign up, just show up.

 

Art & Vendor Market place Sat & Sun 9-5pm

Artisan & Vendor Marketplace will take place August 3th and 4th from 9 to 5 in Cole Parkway. There will be an interesting and exciting mix of items from old favorites and first time attendees. Something for everyone.

Scituate Historical Society Heritage Days Open Houses  Sat  & Sun 1-4pm

Select historical sites will be open for tours. Docents will be at each site to conduct tours. Check the Scituate Historical Society website and Facebook page for information on which locations will be open.

Kids Activities 

 

There will be so many fun things for the kiddos to do at Scituate Heritage Days

 

The kiddos will not want to miss the magic of The Great Rolando.
You will find him at Scituate Heritage Days on Saturday, August 3rd at 10am on the Morrell Bandstand. Be ready to have some fun with Rolando and his sidekick Rocky. If you are lucky you may be picked to assist with one of the many magic tricks. The show is geared towards children up to 8 years old.

Food  & Drink  Options 

There will be so many lunch options at Scituate Heritage Days. Crossroads Brands – XR- Sandwiches, BBQ, Sauces, Rubs will have a great selection of sandwiches , snacks and drinks to choose from.

If you are looking to have a cold adult beverage and relax, follow the music to the Untold Brewing and Greenbush Package and General Store Waterfront Beer Garden. Craft beers produced right here in Scituate along with many other drink offerings.

Parking info 

Please remember that parking at St. Mary’s this weekend remains reserved for those who are attending Saturday and Sunday Masses. Please do not use our parking lots for heritage days festivities. Spread the word.
August 2nd, 3rd and 4th are Scituate Heritage Days. We look forward to an outstanding weekend of community events in the harbor district and encourage everyone to support our local merchants. There will be plenty of food, music, and family fun! When planning your visit to Heritage Days, the Scituate Police Department asks that you keep a few essential considerations in mind:
• Parking regulations & restrictions will be strictly enforced throughout the harbor and waterfronts areas.
• Parking on Kent Street will be limited to the east shoulder of the northbound lane of the roadway.
o Additionally, parking will not be permitted on Edward Foster Rd., Vinal Ave., Meetinghouse Ln., Greenfield Ln., Otis Place. and Allen Place – as well as other roadways as indicated.
o Cones, barricades, or signs will designate all restricted parking areas.
• Residents and visitors should anticipate periods of heavy congestion in the harbor area throughout the weekend.
• Those planning to attend Heritage Day’s events are strongly encouraged to utilize the free shuttle bus service, which will run continuously from the Greenbush MBTA parking lot.
o On Saturday and Sunday, there will be FREE PARKING and 2 free, handicap-accessible SHUTTLE BUSES departing from the Greenbush Commuter Rail Station on Driftway.
o The shuttle buses will drop off at the corner of Front Street and Otis.
• Front Street, across from Allen Place, will provide access to the Mill Wharf Restaurant and shops’ parking area.
• Otis Place, east of Front Street, will be closed to through traffic.
• Visitors to Heritage Days are reminded that public consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited throughout the Town of Scituate and will be strictly enforced.
• The Scituate Police Department and our law enforcement partners will be on hand throughout the event to help ensure the safety and security of attendees, but we can’t do it alone.
