The Chinese American Association of Braintree will be celebrating Lunar new year Festival on Sunday February from 12-4pm. This a free great weekend event to bring the kids
Bring your family and friends and enjoy the incredible performances we have planned for you inside Braintree high school Gymnasium. Our event will feature a variety of cultural activities and performances, including traditional lion and dragon dances with eye dotting ceremony.

What is Lunar New Year
Lunar New Year is the beginning of the new year based on the lunar calendar or lunisolar calendar. The lunar calendars follows the lunar phase while lunisolar calendars follow both the lunar phase and the time of the solar year. The event is celebrated by numerous cultures in various ways at diverse dates.

Chinese American Association of Braintree
May 23rd, 2023: Mayor Kokoros’s proclamation on Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and the foundation of the Chinese American Association of Braintree.
Since 1992, May has been designated as Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, and events are held across the United States to showcase Asian Pacific cultural traditions.
May 23, 2023, is a memorable day!
In the afternoon, the Chinese American Association of Braintree was formally established in the Town hall of Braintree, Massachusetts. Meanwhile, on the initiative of the Chinese American Association of Braintree, Mayor of Braintree Charles Kokoros signed the Proclamation, May was proclaimed as Asian Pacific Heritage Month in Braintree and a ceremony was held to celebrate it.
