Looking for a fun fall event in Massachusetts? King Richard’s Faire returns to Carver, MA for its 45th anniversary season in 2026, bringing eight weekends of Renaissance fun, live entertainment, jousting, shopping, food, games, costumes and plenty of medieval magic!
The New England Renaissance Festival runs from September 5 through October 25, 2026, including the Monday holidays on September 7 and October 12. The Faire takes place on a 200-acre historic site in Carver, about 50 minutes south of Boston.
Whether you come dressed as a pirate, wizard, knight, fairy or simply yourself, there’s something happening throughout the Faire. Guests can enjoy performers on eight stages, roaming entertainers, horseback jousting, games, rides, artisans, food and drinks.

One of the best parts about visiting King Richard’s Faire is that each weekend has its own theme and special events, making every visit a little different.
⚔️ Weekend 1: Labor Day Weekend
September 5–7, 2026
The 45th season kicks off with three days of Faire fun!
- Saturday, September 5: Opening Day of the 45th season
- Sunday, September 6: Salute to Safety honoring active duty, veteran and retired military, police, fire and EMS personnel
- Monday, September 7: Labor Day Fun
Carver residents can also receive free admission on opening day with proper identification.
🏴☠️ Weekend 2: Babes & Beer – Pirate Invasion Weekend
September 12–13, 2026
Arrr, matey! Get ready for a weekend of pirates, beer and plenty of fun.
Saturday features the annual Cleavage Contest, while Sunday brings the Queen’s Beer Run.
🪄 Weekend 3: HP Fandom in the Kingdom
September 19–20, 2026
Calling all witches, wizards and magical fans!
The weekend features Magical Meetups, a themed costume parade, the Get Filtered by the Hat event and the Spry Wizard Tournament.
Come dressed in your favorite magical-world-inspired costume and join the fun.

September 26–27, 2026
This weekend celebrates love, companionship and the Faire community.
Saturday includes an Artisan Love Promotion and a Vow Renewal Ceremony.
Sunday is Deaf Awareness Day, featuring ASL interpreters throughout the realm. For the first time, pet dogs are also welcome on September 27 with the required companion ticket and registration.

October 3–4, 2026
Calling all adventurers!
Guests can take part in D&D-inspired mini campaigns, followed by gaming-themed events including the Dungeons & Gaming Stage Show and the Battle of the Upside Down.

October 10–12, 2026
It’s time for tartans, Highland games and Scottish-inspired fun!
Highlights include the Highland Hunks: Men in Kilts Contest, a Step Dancing Showcase and the KRF Highland Games.
The Faire is also open Monday, October 12 for Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples’ Day weekend fun.

October 17–18, 2026
Fantasy fandoms unite!
Saturday celebrates Game of Thrones-inspired fandom, including regional fandoms, a special joust and GOT trivia.
Sunday turns toward Lord of the Rings fandom, with a relay race, ring toss tournament and costume parade.
🎃 Weekend 8: FEST-EVIL FINALE!
October 24–25, 2026
The final weekend goes out with a bang!
Saturday includes a Children’s Costume Parade, children’s trick-or-treating and the annual Adult Costume Contest.
Sunday features a Witch Dance Tutorial, children’s trick-or-treating, a massive Witch Dance, the King-Sized Final Revels and the Final Drum Jam celebrating the end of the 45th anniversary season.
What Can You Do at King Richard’s Faire?
There’s much more than costumes and jousting at this Massachusetts Renaissance festival.
Visitors can spend the day watching live entertainment, exploring the Faire’s many shops, grabbing a giant turkey leg or other medieval-inspired food, playing games and enjoying rides.
The Gaming Glen features 18 games and rides, including the Dragon Joust, Pirate Ships, Flying Gryffin, Pony Rides, Archer’s Field, Jacob’s Ladder and more.
The Faire is also a great place to shop for unique handmade goods. Artisans offer everything from jewelry, leather goods and pottery to fantasy merchandise, costumes, accessories and more.
