You or your group must pay for a Smith Farm Apple Bag before entering the orchard. You or your group may not enter the orchard unless you purchase a Smith Farm Apple Bag. 3 people are allowed in per one 1-peck bag purchase. 5 people are allowed in per 1- 1/2 bushel bag purchase. Of course, you may purchase as many as you like beyond the minimum.
Purchases & Policies
A lot of hard work goes into growing apple trees. Did you know it takes a minimum of 5 years before a tree produces a significant crop of apples? If you damage a young tree so it needs replacing, we have to wait 5 years before we can recoup our loss. And that makes fewer apples for you to pick and enjoy! So please respect our orchard by following our policies listed below. Thank you.
How Do I Pay?
We accept payment through Square Point of Sale, this includes all major credit cards and cash. No checks, please!
You must purchase a new Smith Farm Apple Bag each time you visit or revisit the orchard.
It is always a good idea to bring cash with you in the event that our system is down; we are a mobile setup and rely on cell towers for wifi to process credit cards.

Apple picking should start on Labor Day weekend
When people talk about Smolak Farms, they think of apples! You will not find as many varieties north of Boston as you will here! The crisp, freshness in every bite is what you will find with Smolak Farm’s apples!
Our Antique Apple Orchard includes 20 different varieties of apples arranged in 7 rows with 3 groups of 10 trees in each row. This orchard was planted in 1992 to help preserve some varieties that are no longer grown for commercial harvest.
Those varieties include: Chenango Strawberry, Sops of Wine, Cox Orange Pippen, Sheepnose, Smokehouse, Rhode Island Greening, Fameuse Snow, Golden Russet, Winter Banana, Spitzenberg, Seek No Further, Red Stayman, Granny Smith, Yellow Newton, Lady, James Grieve, Baldwin and Wolf River, Macoun and Cortland.
Old Standard Orchard is located across the street from our parking lot. It is the second orchard from which we pick. Types of apples that you will find here are: Cortland, MacIntosh, Red Delicious, Granny Smith and Macoun.
The Proposal Tree Orchard is our newest orchard and it is located at the top of the hill from the Old Standard Orchard. The apples that you will find in this orchard are: Braeburn, Cameo, Cortland, Fuji, Jonagold and Shizukas.
Bridle Path Orchard is located behind our large white barn. It is the first orchard of the season that we open. The apples in this orchard are: Gravensteins, Macintosh, Macoun, Red Delicious, Northern Spy, Empire Imperial Red, Cortland and Mutsu.
Private (SECRET) Orchard is located behind our Old Standard Orchard. This Orchard is full of Cortland and Macintosh apples.
