Day 113 Award winning play Proof at Curtain Call theatre in Braintree

Sharing is caring!

Proof  is playing at the Curtian Call Theatre in Braintree this weekend.  Winner of both the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize for Best Play in 2001, David Auburn’s Proof is at once engaging and challenging, creating a world in which science and humanity share equally in the theatrical experience.

Catherine, age 25, sacrificed her own college education and early adulthood to care for her father, Robert, a once-prominent mathematician who had spent his last years mentally ill. At his death she must deal with Hal, a former student of her father’s who hopes to find valuable work in the notebooks that Robert wrote in his last years; and with her elder sister, Claire, who is trying to manage Catherine’s life.

As Catherine confronts Hal and Claire, she is also confronting her own hopes and fears: the issue of how much of her father’s genius – or madness- she has inherited.

Performances will be held Friday and Saturday at 8pm. For tickets and directions Curtain Call theatre in Braintree
