If you are looking for a fun way to celebrate this weekend, you should check out the Quincy Annual August moon Festival on Sunday August 21st from 11am-5pm. Bring your family enjoy a day of free cultural activities, delicious food, live entertainment, and exhibits from more than 100 local businesses and organizations on 1400-1600 Hancock St.

In China, the August Moon Festival celebrates the end of the harvest season and the beauty and elegance of the moon. According to Chinese legend, the moon is brightest and fullest on the day on which the festival is held

Some of the great fun event scheduled include .
• Dragon and Lion Dance parade and opening ceremony
• Watermelon-eating contest
• Kung fu demonstration by Boston Shaolin Kung Fu Academy
• Taiko drumming by Samurai Taiko and Academy of Kodubo
• Asian Cultural Area featuring exhibits from China, Taiwan, Thailand, and the Philippines
• Food court with ethnic dishes prepared by local restaurants
• Children’s activity area

The Festival is being organized by Quincy Asian Resources
