Colonel Willard Blackinton was a prominent industrialist and financier in America’s early days. The colonel was born in 1800, son of William Blackinton, an early settler of the Attleboro area.
In 1850, Blackinton commissioned a home to be built for his two sons and their families. The Greek revival style was a favorite of the time, reflecting the elegance and stately homes constructed in the mid 19th century. The Colonel Blackinton Inn was created by skilled craftsmen who used hand-hewn timbers of oak, held in place by wooden pegs. The historic inn is listed by the Massachusetts Historical Commission and with the National Register of Historic Places, proudly taking its place in the company of some of the finest historical homes in New England.
While you are listening to some great jazz music in the background you can enjoy their Sunday brunch from 10-3pm.
