Day 639 Quincy August Moon Festival 2013

The Quincy August Moon Festival will be held on  Sunday, August 18 from 11am to 5pm at Quincy Center . This free family friendly festival  will have entertainment, a cultural village, pony rides, amusements, and activities for the whole family!Graphic1
There will be traditional and modern Asian music and dance performances as in Quincy Square  well as a children’s area with games and crafts. Local restaurants will also serve various types of Asian and American cuisine. Come join us for a day of fun!

Festival highlights include: a sampling of traditional moon cakes; food vendors; exhibitors representing various countries; cultural performances on the main stage; activities for children; and entertainment for elders.

August Moon is the second biggest holiday in China and is also celebrated in other Asian countries such as Vietnam, Korea, Malaysia, and Singapore. The celebration of this event in Quincy will help the community learn about Asian cultures and will give many countries (Asian and non-Asian) a chance to share their culture with the community.

Rain Date is August 25th

Quincy Center , from approximately 1400 to 1600 Hancock Street.
The festival is a short walk from the Quincy Center MBTA station (on the Red line) and is close to free public parking and parking garages.
