Day 658 Duxbury SeaFest Seafood Tasting 2013
The 2nd annual Duxbury  SeaFest will be held on Saturday September 21st 12 noon to 4pm  at the Duxbury Senior center! The Duxbury Rotary club organizes the Seafest again this year!   Seafest is a great opportunity to try out some seafood from different Duxbury and South Shore restaurants. Think if as a Taste of the South Shore Seafood style-lobster mac and cheese, chowder and much more!  
You will have the opportunity to sample   seafood  dishes from  many local restaurants and caterers including  Alden Park , Brant Rock Lobster Pound, Depot Street Market, Foodies, Island Creek Oysters, Kingsbury Club Pub, Linda Collins Catering, Marshfield Tavern, Snug Harbor Fish Market, Turner’s Yard Gastro Pub and Yankee Trader Seafood . Samuel Adams Beer, 90+ Cellars Wine and soft drinks will be served.   Live musical entertainment will be provided by the Scooby Snax Band.
This year’s event will benefit the Duxbury Lions Club Food Pantry, Island Creek Oyster Foundation’s Haiti Aquaculture Project and Razia’s Ray of Hope Foundation.
The Lions Club Food Pantry provides food to local families in need and is open on Mondays from 10:30 a.m. to noon and Fridays from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
Island Creek Oyster Foundation is supporting an aquaculture project that is helping local families to develop sustainable fish farming in Haiti. Â More information about the project is available at www.islandcreekfoundation.org.
They may be purchased at Westwinds Bookshop in Duxbury or online   Tickets to the the Duxbury Seafest  cost $40 for adults and teens and $15 for children under 12. They are available in advance by calling 781-934-7379. Tickets may also be purchased at the event.
