Day 669 New Bedford Working Waterfront Festival 2013

The  10th annual  Working Waterfront Festival will be held on  Saturday September 28th and Sunday September 29th on Fisherman’s wharf in New Bedford.  This  is a free, family-friendly, educational celebration of New England’s commercial fishing industry held. Featuring live maritime and ethnic music, fishermen’s contests, fresh seafood, vessel tours, author readings, cooking demonstrations, kid’s activities and more.

  • Tour commercial fishing boats, tugboats, Coast Guard Vessels and historic vessels.
  • Listen to the fishing community share stories of their lives, skills and experiences.

  • Enjoy performances of music, dance, poetry, and theater.
  • Hear maritime authors read from their works.
  • Try your hand at knot tying, net mending and other skills.
