Day 954 New Bedford Holiday Stroll and Christree Tree Lighting 2014
The New Bedford Holiday Stroll will be held on Saturday December 6th and Sunday December 7th 2014 Â in the Downtown New Bedford MA starting at noon each day.
A fun filled holiday weekend event for the entire family on the Southcoast . Downtown New Bedford is festive with seasonal activities including Santa and Mrs. Claus, antique fire engine rides, live music, holiday treats and refreshments, the lighting of the city’s giant tree plus plenty of holiday shopping.
Downtown events include: Free photos with Santa at Mare’ Studio – craft vendor fairs at the Centre, Craft-O-Rama pop up Gallery, First Unitarian Church, NB Art Museum/ArtWorks!, and in the Whaling Museum lobby. Free children’s craft activities at BCC, the NB Art Museum/ArtWorks!, NB Whaling National Historical Park, and both the YMCA and YWCA. Live entertainment at in the Whaling Museum Auditorium, Seaman’s Bethel and Custom House Square Park. – Shop for unusual gifts, special treats and sales at stores, eateries and galleries throughout the downtown. Saturday features strolling carolers from the New Bedford Coral Society, official parade with the NBHS Marching Band and tree lighting ceremony on the library steps and a few new surprises. Look around and cast your vote for your favorites in the “Deck the Windows†contest!

Join Mayor Jon Mitchell and Elected Officials for this festive annual event!
At 4:30 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will join the New Bedford High School and All-City Middle School Marching Bands and Color Guard for a parade up William Street to the Library steps. At 5:00 p.m. Mayor Jon Mitchell will welcome all for the City’s official Tree Lighting Ceremony. New this year – special entertainment and a holiday surprise!
