Boston Irish Cultural Festival 2015 in Canton MA
The 2015  Boston Irish Festival will be held will be on  Saturday June 13th and Sunday June 14th at  the Irish Cultural Center of New England  in Canton MA.  This annual  great family friendly  festival boasts heel-clicking Celtic music by both local and world-famous Irish bands, as well as step dancing, Irish football and hurling, an Irish soda bread baking competition, and fun activities for the kids, including face painting and field games. The Boston Irish Festival is delighted to announce its partnership with Liam Harney of Harney Academy of Irish Dance to launch a Feis at the 2015 Boston Irish Festival.  A Feis is an Irish dance competition that is as delightful to participate in as to watch.  We welcome participants young and old, novice or experienced.  And if you love to watch Irish dance, then this is the perfect place for you!  We’ll have non-stop Irish dance all day Saturday, June 13.
Viking IrishÂ
Vikings from all parts of Scandinavia had a reputation as invaders and raiders. They were also traders, merchants, farmers, and artisans. The attack of Vikings on the monastery at Lindisfarne in 793 is considered the beginning of the Viking age, and not much later in 795, Vikings appeared in Inis MuirÃgh and Inis Bó Finne, on the northwest coast of Ireland.
On Saturday, June 13th and 14th Boston’s Viking Irish will set up camp on the grounds of the ICC. They will show off their battle talents and crafts and it is not to be missed by young or old!!
