South Shore Natural Science Center Norwell April Vacation Camp

Citizen Science Vacation Week – Ages 6-10

Calling all Scientists! We need your help! We will search, investigate, count and measure the animals and plants in our woods. Have the buds on the trees opened yet? How many salamanders can we find? Which birds do we see? What can we find living in the pond? We will answer these questions and others from our budding scientists.

Monday, April 18 – Trees/leaves (Project BudBurst)
Tuesday, April 1 9 – Salamanders and Frogs (Salamander cover boards, FrogWatch)
Wednesday, April 20 – Ladybugs and butterflies (Lost Ladybug Project, Big Butterfly Count)
Thursday, April 21 – Birds (NestWatatch, BirdCount, FeederWatch)
Friday, April 22 – Water (Pond exploration and water quality test)

9:00am – 12:30pm
Extended day to 2:30pm
Ages 6-10

Fees: $35/day Member; $40/day Non-Member, Extended Day – $20/day.

Small Surprises Vacation Week – Ages 3-6

Nature Center Preschool Teachers and Science Center Naturalists combine talents for a unique Vacation Week Program for children ages 3-6! Through outdoor exploration, art and more, we will take time to observe the small creatures in our world. Children will search for and meet some of our small nature friends and use their sense of wonder to think about what it would be like to be a small creature.

Dress appropriately to go outside. Please send your child to the program with a peanut free/dairy free snack and lunch.

Thursday, April 21 – Fantastic frogs
Friday, April 22 – Spinning Spiders

For ages 3-6

Your kids, ages 4 and up, will enjoy open gym time on the rock wall, the trapeze
swing with the foam pit and the air tumble trak, along with playing
sports, games, gymnastics, obstacle courses, arts and
crafts and more. We supply the snack, you supply the lunch.

The cost is $35/day per child or $90 for 3 consecutive days. Simply call
or email to sign up. Please tell us your child(ren)’s name(s), age(s)

Humans aren’t the only great builders. Discover some of nature’s most extreme builders and see how you match up to their building skills!

NRT SHEEP PASTURE EASTON MA– APRIL VACATION PROGRAM

April Vacation Program 2016
The NRT will be offering its April vacation program on April 19-21, 2016. April’s theme will be Signs of Spring and will focus on the different ways the natural world wakes up after a long winter. Games and activities will all feature animals, plants, and processes that take place all around us in the spring. Join us for a great way to celebrate Earth Day and a new season!

SACC April  SCHOOL VACATION PROGRAM School Vacation programs at the South Shore YMCA enable kids to enjoy a variety of fun, safe, and challenging activities during the week of April school vacation. Families can be assured of a caring environment where children receive excellent supervision, quality programming, and lasting memories.

Capron Zoo Attleboro  Zoocademy

for 10-13 year olds April 18-22, 2016

The zoo is mixing old favorites with new “ed-ventures” during this spring vacation

MONDAY (4/18): KEEPER KAPERS: Once again, Capron Park Zoo is offering this fun favorite. Children will get ‘down and dirty’ as the learn a bit more about what it take to be a zoo keeper.

TUESDAY (4/19): SUPER SENSES: Sight, sound, smell…all senses we have in common with animals. In this program kids will take an up-close scientific look at how the senses work.
THIS PROGRAM INCLUDES A DISSECTION

WEDNESDAY (4/20): ZSI This wildlife science based program will allow kids to experience how crimes against wildlife (and people!) are solved.
THURSDAY (4/21): KEEPER KAPERS: Another day of this fun favorite one is part of the schedule. Diets, exhibit cleaning and enrichment building are just some of the things planned for this day

FRIDAY (4/22): EARTH DAY IS EVERY DAY: On Earth Day kids will spend the day learning about conservation and being a part of this global program that honors the Earth and all species that call it home.

 

Wey-Fun April Vacation Program

Children will be offered a variety of programming to keep them busy, active and excited to come back each day. Swimming, archery, arts, sports, games, trips to Great Esker Park and other engaging activities all week long.

 

2016 Spring Science Academy at Bridgewater State University 

Grades 6-8   Date: Tuesday, April 19 – Friday, April 22, 2016
Time: 8:30 AM–2:30 PM daily
Location: Dana Mohler-Faria Science and Mathematics Center at Bridgewater State University

On top of the world! Imagine yourself as a climber preparing to summit Mt. Everest. What kind of obstacles will you face? How will you overcome them and survive this journey? During this weeklong program, students will design materials necessary to overcome the challenges of conquering the mountain. Hypothermia, carrying the necessary supplies to camps, and altitude sickness stand in the way. It is up to you to use your creativity and problem solving skills in order to achieve this ambitious goal to summit Everest and experience the beauty and wonder of standing on top of the world.
