We really enjoy the  Christmas holiday season!   Bring the kids to a  holiday concert or performance as a special way to kick off the holiday season  . We’ve gathered together all of the  holiday shows taking place on the South Shore and the Greater Boston area so that you can plan ahead and book your seats now.

Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer Nov 24-26th

Adapted from the beloved 1964 animated special, this stage production introduces everyone’s cherished reindeer. Last year, Jeff Frank and Chicago’s First Stage transformed Rudolph into a live-action musical, and it appears poised to become a festive tradition just like the original TV show. This timeless story imparts valuable lessons about friendship and respect while igniting a contagious Christmas excitement in all. In this fresh production, a cast comprising both adults and young talents embodies all your favorite characters, including Bumble the Abominable Snowman, The Misfit Toys, Clarice, and, of course, Rudolph himself. The musical repertoire features iconic songs like the title track (originally sung by Johnny Mathis), “Jingle, Jingle, Jingle,” and “Holly Jolly Christmas.”

Elf Jr  Stoughton Dec 1st & 2nd 

The Musical JR. tells the story of a young orphan who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is given the name Buddy and raised by elves in the North Pole. Buddy lives happily unaware that he is actually a human until his enormous size and poor-toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list, and his stepbrother doesn’t even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of the holidays.

Urban Nutcracker Dec 16-23rd

URBAN NUTCRACKER, the modern Boston-centric holiday classic, returns to the Shubert Theatre for the 2023 holiday season!  This classic dance theatrical will showcase winter scenes set in present-day downtown Boston, blending the rhythms of Duke Ellington with the classical music of Tchaikovsky. Anchored by classical ballet, the performances also include a broad range of dance forms such as tap, hip hop, flamenco, and jazz.

Elf In Concert December 22nd & 23rd

Buddy was accidentally transported to the North Pole as a toddler and raised to adulthood among Santa’s elves. Unable to shake the feeling that he doesn’t fit in, the adult Buddy travels to New York, in full elf uniform, in search of his real father. This holiday season relive this heartwarming holiday classic on a giant screen as every note of John Debney’s wonderful score is played live to the motion picture in: ELF IN CONCERT!
