New Bedford Folk Festival brings together over 70 renowned and emerging performers and 90 juried arts and crafts vendors in New Bedford’s authentic historic district during on Saturday July 6th and Sunday July 7th. The two day family-oriented festival offers continuous folk music from 11am to 9pm on seven sound stages in and around the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park ranging from the majestic 1200 seat Zeiterion Performing Arts Center to the intimacy of the National Park Garden Stage.

Free admission for children under 12 years.

The festival also features a family performance and activity stage, an open mic stage where people can sign up to perform and a high quality crafts show with over eighty juried, handmade crafts for sale at affordable prices. A food court features a variety of food vendors including the justifiably world famous New Bedford landed fish and scallops.

More Than 50 traditional and contemporary folk acts, including BeauSoleil and Dar Williams!

From Americana to blues, Celtic to roots, the best contemporary and traditional folk music is what makes the New Bedford Folk Festival the beloved music event that has music lovers returning year after year!

This year’s artists include Grammy Award-winning Cajun band BeauSoleil avec Michael Doucet, and “one of America’s very best singer-songwriters” Dar Williams, singer-songwriter Susan Werner, blues masters Chris Smither and Guy Davis, and Molsky’s Mountain Drifters featuring Grammy-nominated fiddler Bruce Molsky, and many more. This line-up of renowned and emerging artists is complemented by the popular “workshops” – a collaborative, one-time-only performance unique to the New Bedford Folk Festival.

There’s something for everyone, whether you come for two days of continuous folk music or to peruse the free, non-ticketed festivities surrounding the festival, including the music on the Southcoast Stage and retail and food vendors.
