October is Fire Prevention Month! With the goal of raising fire safety awareness, many local fire departments host open houses which are fun for the whole family,
Saturday October 4th 2025
Avon MA Fire Department Open house 10am To kick off Fire Prevention Week (FPW) 2025, Avon Fire Department will be hosting our annual open house on Saturday, October 4th from 10am until 1pm. The theme of FPW 2025 is lithium-ion battery safety. Stop in to the fire station to meet the firefighters, see the fire trucks, and our equipment as well as learning about fire safe practices in your home.

Sunday October 5th
The Middleborough Fire Department, in partnership with Middleborough Fire Fighters Local 3653, is hosting its Annual Open House on Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Central Fire Station, 125 North Main St. . This event is open to the public and includes a variety of family-friendly activities, such as the chance to Meet the Middleborough Fire Department Staff, a Jumpy House, Facepainting & Glitter Tattoos, and the opportunity to Spray A Firehose. Attendees will also get to meet a Special Guest, Millie the Middleborough School Resource Dog, and enjoy treats from J’s Ice Cream Truck and more!

Lakeville fire department 10am Please join YOUR Lakeville Fire Fighters for some food, vendors, antique fire trucks, and station tours.
There will be a live motor vehicle extrication demonstration!
Brockton Fire department 10-2pm Join Brockton Fire’s open house October 11th at 540 West St for live demonstrations by firefighters, free pizza, and a children’s firefighter obstacle course!
Sunday October 20th
Marshfield Fire Safety Open House & Halloween Costume Party 10am Please join us Sunday 10/20/24 from 10am-2pm for our annual fire safety open house! All ages welcome and are encouraged to bring, wear, and show off their Halloween costumes while they learn about fire safety from some of our SAFE educators as well as get the opportunity to see some of the equipment in action. This year we are pleased to be joined by some of our public safety team mates who will be bringing some trucks and cars to show to everyone.
Monday October 21st
Join your Sharon Firefighters for a fun afternoon of education. 3-5pm All ages encouraged to attend. Come grab a slice of pizza and get to know your firefighters.
Sunday October 27th
Norwell Fire Department Come see us at our annual open house! Located at Fire headquarters 300 Washington st. October 29th 11-2!
