Meet Melissa a Henna Body Artist Henna is an ancient art originating from the middle east. It is a plant based dye used on skin, nails, and hair. Henna starts out as a green leafy plant that gets harvested, dried, and sifted into a fine powder. Henna artists like myself buy the powder and mix in all natural ingredients. I use lemon juice and either lavender or cajeput essential oils in my henna paste but there are many variations.

For the past few years I have been applying henna to skin at birthday parties, wedding parties, fairs, and festivals. Because of covid I have not been able to be close to anyone outside of family for any period of time for henna. Instead I am selling gift certificates to future services and also henna kits.
