Quincy Flashback Dance Party Concert 2024
The City of Quincy and Mayor Thomas Koch are proud to invite the public to an ‘80s and ‘90s
Throwback Dance Party on Sunday afternoon August 17th 2024 from 3-8 p.m. at the Hancock Adams Common. Bring the kids and dance to your favorite songs.
The free family friendly event will feature an afternoon of music from bands who specialize in playing retro tunes from the 1980s and ‘90s.
Dress in your 80s & 90s outfits and join us for the following headliners:
WHO: Cover Story Entertainment opens the show at 3 p.m., performing hit songs from the 1980s. Founded by Berklee graduate Chris Troxell, the band’s ‘80s repertoire includes classics from Michael Jackson’s “Beat it” and “Billie Jean” to Run DMC’s “Tricky,” and everything in between. Following Cover Story, Beacon Street Band will play ‘90s tunes beginning at 5:30 p.m. In between the first and second acts, the dance school Center Stage Quincy will perform at 5 p.m. Recording artist Michelle Brooks-Thompson, a finalist on Season 3 of NBC’s “The Voice,” headlines the event with a tribute to legendary singer Whitney Houston, whose 1992 version of “I Will Always Love You” ranks among the best-selling singles of all time. She performs widely and has won numerous singing competitions since 2007.
Special attractions and food options
In addition to music and dancing, vintage ‘80s and ‘90s classic cars and models dressed up in fashion from the time, as well as stilt walkers and jugglers, along with lawn games, will be on the Hancock Adams Common.
