Braintree Library   10am Young Nature Explorers on Leaves and Seeds
Young Nature Explorers is a new monthly program with Miss Elisabeth. Each month we’ll talk and learn about an aspect of local nature. In October, the focus is the leaves and seeds around us. We’ll share what we’ve seen, learn about some kinds of leaves and seeds we’ve never seen, then sort by color and size. We’ll also have a related craft project. Best for ages 3 to 5, but open to children of all ages. Held in the Children’s Room, in the Storytime corner.

Abignton Library Toddler drop in storytime & play  1030am Join Miss Sandy (or Miss Heidi, or Mrs. Grimmett) every Monday morning at 10:30 AM this fall for our drop-in toddler time program! Toddler Time is a 20-minute program consisting of short stories, songs, scarf waving, egg shaking, and a puppet visit. This program is best suited for children ages 0-3. Monday Drop-In Toddler Time is on any Monday we are open. Our Toddler Times are funded by the Friends of the Library.

Hanover Library  Kids Yoga  11am  Miss Christine from Little Bee Yoga Co. is excited to share the magic of yoga with John Curtis Library families!! Partner with your little yogi in super fun poses, games, music, stories, breathing exercises, meditation, and guided relaxations that help to strengthen their bodies, minds and souls… We’ll bark in downward dog, meow in cat pose and roar in lion pose while we take a yoga journey that you and your child will never forget! This fun class provides a beautiful bonding experience between the adult and child. Each class is 45 minutes. Join Miss Lori for Toddler Storytime at Adams Shore! This program for two- and three-year-olds and their caregivers introduces simple stories and concepts to young children. Songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and felt board activities will be used to reinforce concepts. repeats weekly thru end of October

Awestruck toddler, eyes filled with wonder, wearing butterfly wings
Best for mobile toddlers, Wiggleworms storytime features songs, rhymes, and a story or two to keep little ones engaged. This program meets every Tuesday at 10:30 AM in Queset Garden with Miss Alyisha. It runs for about 30 minutes. Don’t forget to bring your blanket (or chairs) and a light jacket. No registration required and all families are welcome! runs weekly thru the end of October   In the event of rainy &/or soggy weather, storytime will meet in the Children’s Room

Pembroke Library storytime 2-5 ages  1030am  Toddlers (ages 2 to 5) and their caregivers can enjoy an interactive storytime with songs, dances, and a story that encourage language development and social skills. Each themed storytime is followed by a craft.  Repeats weekly thru Dec 17 2024

Preschool Discovery @North Quincy  Library  – Ages 3-5  3pm

Drop by the North Quincy Branch Library with your preschooler, ages 3-5, any time between 3 and 4 PM to do some fun simple science together.

Each month activities, experiments and instructions will be provided on a different science topic you can do with your child.

This month come in and play with magnets: Make magnets float above each other, chase each other around, use them to go fishing and more!

Caregivers and children ages 0-5 are invited to a playdate at the Hanson Public Library! Join us anytime between 4:00pm and 5:30pm for some unstructured play featuring puzzles, coloring, train table, activity cube, and more. Drop in for an afternoon of fun and meet some new friends!  Drop in program, preregistration not required. This is not a librarian led program. Young children must be supervised by an assigned caregiver at all times.

Join experienced yoga instructor Jennifer Lyn to stretch and breath deep. Jennifer returns with session of mindfulness, relaxation, games and simple yoga poses for kids. This class will be fun and engaging for kids 1-5 years old. Siblings are welcome.  Please bring a yoga mat, towel or use library carpet square. Jennifer offers a warm and supportive environment for parents and caregivers to connect with their newborns and infants, as well as with other adults in their community, through gentle movement, song and discussion.  Class is for newborn babies to pre-crawling and their parents/caregivers. Baby Sing and Play at West Bridgewater Library 10;15  This is a lap-sit program of music, movement and stories for babies birth to 24 months. Registration now required repeats thru 10/31

 

Baby Lapsit babies to 2 yr old Pembroke Library 1030am Designed for babies and toddlers from 6 to 24 months, Lapsits are a great chance for caregivers to bond with their child. Each 30-minute program includes stretches, songs, and rhymes followed by an open play time that allows babies to play and grown-ups to chat. repeats thru Dec 19th except for Thanksgiving

Patriot Place trick-or-treating-spooktacular-at-patriot-place 11am and 530pm  Ghosts and Goblins! You’re invited to the annual Trick-or-Treating SPOOKtacular presented by SNICKERS® at Patriot Place on Thursday, October 24! For 2024, there will be two sessions: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM and 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM. Make sure to wear your best costume!

Join us for a spine-tingling afternoon of magic and mystery with magician Robert Clarke during Lead Poisoning Prevention Week!Watch as he conjures up tricks that will leave you spellbound, all while sharing important messages about staying safe from lead hazards. Ghoulish Crafts await after the show! Can’t wait to see you there!

Boo-tacular Candy & Costumes Pembroke 430pm All ages can visit the Library and the Council on Aging for a special event of treats (no tricks!). Both locations will have treats/candy and activities including Pin the Nose on the Pumpkin and a Zombie Obstacle Course.  This event is free and open to all youth; costumes are encouraged but not required. Non-food treats will be available.

Melissa & Doug take a long travel train set table   As a mom of a 2 year old son who hates having a mess this was a MUST! I love how it folds up and all the pieces fit within it. It is also perfect for on the go as well! It is great quality and the pieces are actual wood & not cheap and thin!

Plymouth YMCA  Trunk or Treat   5pm Join us at the Plymouth branch for a Spook-tacular Event! Bring your little Goblins for an outdoor family-friendly trick or treat experience! Included with your Old Colony YMCA Family Membership. Members, please register each child on your OCY App under KidZone, Featured Event. Not a member yet? You can register here for $5/child

Easton  YMCA  Trunk or Treat 5pm To promote a safe and fun environment for the community, we will be hosting a trick or treat alternative. Kids can trick or treat from trunk to trunk in a line-up of vehicles parked in the parking lot with trunks or tailgates full of goodies.   $5 for non-members   Free for Old Colony Y Members (Branch Locations: Stoughton, Brockton, Easton, Middleboro, East Bridgewater, Taunton) Family friendly costumes and trunk decorations please.  Rain or shine!

  Hull Life Museum Pumpkin Trail 5pm-8pm October 25th/26th Join us for a family-friendly adventure filled with spooky and fun surprises! Explore the museum and outdoor trail dotted with over 100 pumpkins hidden in nooks and crannies. Trunk or Treat at The Bridge Center Bridgewater 530pm Join us for a fun-filled, sensory friendly evening of trunk or treating on Friday, 10/25 from 5:30-7:30pm. All ages are welcome!

Carver haunted house 6-9pm The Friends of Carver Youth Arts and Athletics and the Carver Recreation Committee are bringing you back the Carver Haunted House with more scares for the 4th  year in a row! October 25th 26th, Nov 1& 2  Be prepared to be SCARED with a new walk through and new scenes. Brave souls of all ages are welcome to come through the CREEPY Old Fire Station in Carver… but it may be too scary for little ones. The actors will not touch any guests, and expect the same courtesy in return… but WATCH OUT even returning victims won’t know what’s around the next corner. BOO!
Food and Beverages will not be allowed inside; photos and videos inside are also not permitted.
Cookout style concessions will be available out side before or after your scare.
