What to do with the little kids this week.  We did a survey on Instagram and we got overwhelming response to publish a weekly calendar.  We will be rolling up all the fun going on each week!

Most of the library events are open to non residents!  Chose a different Storytime or playtime in a different town  if registration is needed we will let you know

Join Miss Lori for Toddler Storytime at Adams Shore! This program for two- and three-year-olds and their caregivers introduces simple stories and concepts to young children. Songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and felt board activities will be used to reinforce concepts.

Pembroke Library storytime 2-5 ages  1030am   Ages 2 to 5 and their caregivers can enjoy an interactive storytime with songs, dances, and a story that encourages language development and social skills. Each themed storytime is followed by a craft.  This is a drop-in event; no registration is needed. runs thru the end of December

Babytime at Holbrook Library 1030am  Join us for Babytime, a special storytime designed just for our littlest library visitors, ages 0-18 months! This interactive session is a wonderful opportunity for babies and their caregivers to explore the world of books through songs, rhymes, and sensory activities. Move & Groove Storytime, held on both Tuesdays & Wednesdays, is perfect for young children. This fast-paced Storytime includes fun stories, music, movement, and a big finish with bubbles! This program is suitable for children ages 4 and under with their caregiver. Books & Bits Story Time at East Bridgewater 10am 
Our most traditional story time. We read books, sing songs, play with egg shakers and talk about all kinds of things. These are geared for ages 2-5 with emphasis on the 5 tenets of early literacy: read, write, play, sing and talk.

ABC Storytime for Ages 3-5 at Quincy Library 10am 
in this storytime series for preschoolers we will explore a different letter of the alphabet each time we meet. We’ll read stories, sing songs and play games all centered around the letter of the day, including our favorite game: Mystery Bag! repeats thru the end of October

Keeping Pace Storytime   West Bridgewater  10am  Come sit and enjoy stories! Every week is a different theme! Age: Infants/Toddlers.  Registration is required. Please register for desired days in advance. If you have to cancel for any reason, please give us a call, we usually have a waiting list for this class! Repeats Wednesdays FREE

Family Movement & Mindfulness  at Braintree Library 10:15am 
Join Jennifer Lynn of Nurtured Roots for a weekly session hosted by Thayer Public Library for children ages 1–5 years old and their caregivers. Each class features playful movement, gentle stretches, mindful breathing, and time to relax and find stillness. These activities help children learn how to focus, stay calm, and build emotional awareness, all while having fun and building connections. Thayer Public Library hosts experienced instructor Jennifer Lynn in this warm and supportive environment for parents and caregivers to connect with their newborns and infants through gentle movement and songs. Class is for newborn babies to pre-crawling and their parents/caregivers.    No registration needed Program is free  Repeats thru Dec 10th  except for Thanksgiving week

Tots and Tales is a half-hour storytime for toddlers, babies, and their caregivers. This program includes developmentally appropriate stories, songs, and movement activities that reinforce important early literacy skills. For children 3 and under. repeats weekly thru Dec 17th

Drop by the Adams Shore Library with your preschooler, ages 3-5, any time between 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. to do some fun simple science together. Activities, experiments and instructions will be provided for science you can do with your child.

Each month activities, experiments and instructions will be provided on a different science topic you can do with your child.

Baby Lapsit babies to 2 yr old Pembroke Library 1030am Designed for babies and toddlers from 6 to 24 months, Lapsits are a great chance for caregivers to bond with their child. Each 30-minute program includes stretches, songs, and rhymes followed by an open play time that allows babies to play and grown-ups to chat. repeats thru  the end of the year except for Thanksgiving

 

Hingham Library Music & Movement with Ms. Rebecca (ages 4 and under) 1030am
Join Miss Rebecca for a class filled with music and movement. Rebecca is a musician who has a background in theater, music and improv. She is bringing her multiple talents to our library. Sing along to original songs and family favorites. This is a great program for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Alden Haunted House Duxbury 5pm Ride your broomstick over to the Alden House Historic Site for a spooktacular night of family fun, Friday and Saturday, October 17 & 18.

The Haunted Carousel  at Paragon Carousel   Hull  from 5 to 9 PM and is presented in partnership with the Hingham High School Theater Department. The evening is split into two distinct parts: from 5:00 to 7:00 PM is the “Our Not-So-Scary Haunted Carousel,” described as spooky enough to thrill without being too intense. The mood changes from 7:00 to 9:00 PM for Fright After Dark, where the event promises that the scares “get real” for guests ages 8 and up.
