4th of July Fireworks and celebrations South of Boston 2011

Here are the July 4th fireworks South of Boston and on the South shore! Some celebrations start this weekend!   

Attleboro 4th of July celebration   Monday July 4th 7:00 Hayward field  Celebration will start at 7 p.m. with food and drinks and Big Nazo will be entertaining. Fireworks will start at 9:20 p.m. 

Braintree MA 4th of July celebration  Saturday June 25th
Come celebrate the nation’s birthday with the 4th annual Braintree 4th of July Celebration Parade! The Parade is Saturday June 25th and begins at the Hollis Elementary School at 11:45 am. Come watch 25 bands and drum and bugle corps, as well as 3 special floats including the memory of the 70th anniversary of Pearl Harbor with 3 survivors and a 9/11 tribute float for the 10th anniversary!   

A celebration at Braintree High School fields begins at noon, featuring food, carnival rides, a drum corps exhibition, and a concert starting at 6:30 p.m. headlined by Shirley Alston Reeves, a founder and former lead singer of The Shirelles.Fireworks at 10:00pm

Duxbury

Beach Party: 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., July 2, Duxbury Beach.

Road race: Cornerstone Lodge Breakfast, 8 a.m., followed by Duxbury Education foundation road race at 8:30 a.m., July 4.

Parade: 2 p.m. July 4, starts at Halls Corner, proceeds down Washington Street and ends at Duxbury High School.
Fireworks — Battleship Cove, Fall River, MA
July 4, 2011
Experience Fall River’s Fourth of July Fireworks from the deck of the Battleship Massachusetts at Battleship Cove. Location: Battleship Cove, 5 Water Street. Cost: $3 per ticket. time: Gates open at 7:30 p.m.; fireworks 9 p.m. Information: www.battleshipcove.org or call 508-678-1100.

Franklin MA 4th of July celebration  Thursday June 30th Monday July 4th  5 days of carnival rides and food to celebrate Independance  Fireworks Saturday July 2nd 10pm

Halifax in Lights celebration will begin with family activities from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Town Hall Green,  Evening events include music and food, and will be held across the street at Halifax Elementary School.  The fireworks display will begin at 9 p.m.

Hingham

Fireworks: 9 p.m., July 2,, Hingham Harbor.

Vintage baseball game: 3 p.m., July 4, Derby Academy.

Road race: Register from 5:30 to 6:30 a.m., race starts at 7, July 4, Hingham Middle School.

Pancake Breakfast: 7:30 a.m., July 4, Hingham Lions Club.

PARADE 10 a.m., July 2; parade at Rexhame Beach, followed by three-legged races, potato sack races and an egg toss on the beach.

July 4, 2011
The parade kicks off at 10 a.m. from Hedge Road in North Plymouth. The fireworks will begin between 9:15 and 9:30 p.m. and are are lit off on a barge in Plymouth Harbor and can be seen from many vantage points around town. Information: 508- 746-6181. BBQ : 6 p.m., July 2, Nickerson American Legion Post, fundraiser for the Squantum parade. $10.

Squantum parade: 10 a.m. July 3, starting at Huckins Avenue and Bellevue Road.

Merrymount parade: 1 p.m., July 4, starting on Shore Avenue.

 

Adams National Historical Park

“Down and Dirty Politics: 1776 Style,” 1 to 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 4, Beale House Lawn, 181 Adams St.. William Hogeland tells the story of the secret alliance of upscale gentlemen and rowdy street organizers who brought about the Declaration of Independence. Free.

“Independence Forever: The Continental Congress,” 3 to 5 p.m., Adams Carriage House. Become a delegate to the Second Continental Congress and re-enact the passage of the Declaration of Independence Light refreshments to follow. Free. Seating is limited.

“Jefferson and Adams: A Revolutionary Dialogue,” 7 to 9 p.m. Adams National Historical Park Beale House Lawn, located at 181 Adams St. A play about the turbulent 50-year friendship of John and Abigail Adams and Thomas Jefferson, told through their letters. Presented in a tent. Audience members are invited to limited seating which is free and open to the public.

Parade: 7 p.m., July 3; starts at Boston Higashi School, 800 N. Main St.; route goes south along North Main Street to Memorial Parkway and ends at the fire station.

Scituate

July 4 and town’s 375th anniversary: Ceremonies begin at 9:30 a.m., July 4, Cole Parkway, includes speeches by Coast Guard Captain Bob Whitehouse and retired Army General George W. Casey Jr. at 11 a.m.

Life boat tour: Noon to 4 p.m. tours of a Coast Guard motor life boat.

Civil War encampment: 9 a.m. to about 4 p.m., town common.
