There is another great foodie event this weekend, besides the Taste of Hingham, Â you will to also Â need to check out the Taste the South Coast in New Bedford ! Join them Â on Sunday, May 20 from 12 noon to 5 pm. in Custom House Square in the beautiful New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park for the 6^th annual Taste of the South Coast.

You will be able to sample and taste a variety of offerings from local Â area restaurants. SouthCoast restaurants, caterers, and bakeries will serve sample sized portions of their signature dishes. Â You can enjoy beers and ales from L. Knife & Co. and Buzzard Bay, and wines from Travessia Winery, a downtown New Bedford urban winery.

The Taste Of SouthCoast event will be held rain or shine under the tents. Â Live music also adds to the fun atmosphere. Â This year’s musical entertainment includes local favorites The Relics and the J. Kelley Band. Â Listen at http://jkelleymusic.com/.

A major feature of Taste OF SouthCoast is a spirit of friendly competition among local, area restaurants that will culminate in awards. Participants cast their votes for their favorite restaurant in the following categories: The â€œPeople’s Choiceâ€Â Award will go to the most voted for food offering andÂ â€œBest Booth Presentationâ€Â award will go to the participant that receives the most votes for best decorated and creative booth.

Ticket: $12 in advance and $15 day of the event for adults, $5 for children 6-12, free for 5 and younger.
