The Shantys and Yoke Shire will be two of the dozen or more bands performing Saturday afternoon. The Shantys are a five piece band out of Philadelphia built in the style of a classic Irish Pub band with a core group of musicians that have been playing together since 2001. The Shantys cover all genres of Irish music from the Clancy Brothers, Wolfe Tones, Pogues, Saw Doctors, to Flogging Molly and everything in between. Yoke Shire is a diverse Boston-based rock band that formed in 1993. While touring heavily, they formulated their unique sound by incorporating elements of blues, Celtic, Middle Eastern, and classical music styles around their rock & roll foundation.

Expect sparks to fly when West Kerry accordionist and singer Séamus Begley joins forces with Sligo fiddler Oisín Mac Diarmada. Séamus and Oisín are part of the band for the Atlantic Steps show on Sunday and we are delighted that to have them perform as a duo on Saturday afternoon.

On Sunday, Devri and Rakish Paddy take to the stage among our many performers. Composed of Declan Houton, Larry Flint, Steve O’Callaghan & Chuck Parrish, Devri is an exciting and dynamic band from greater Boston, with major ties to Ireland. While Devri’s music is firmly based around the ballads, tunes & rousing music of Ireland, at a typical Devri show you will hear songs & tunes from The Pogues, Johnny Cash, The Dubliners, The Beatles, Snow Patrol, U2, Garth Brooks & The Wolfe Tones! Rakish Paddy is Berkshire County’s favorite Celtic folk band—an engaging duo consisting of solid rhythmic guitar, sweet and powerful fiddle, smooth lively vocals, haunting penny whistle and bodhran. They smoothly blend their collective rock, classical, gypsy and Celtic influences into a high energy, heart throbbing, foot-stomping mix.
