Middleboro's CrantoberFest 2018

In honor of the Cranberry Industry, Middleborough Tourism’s Oktoberfest has become Crantoberfest. This Cranberry-themed, family-friendly event will offer entertainment and activities for all ages. Along with our annual kid’s costume contest and cabin decorating contest, we have added several new competitions this year to add to the fun and excitement of the day.

The day begins at 2:00pm with the following contests scheduled throughout the day:

3:00pm The Great Cranberry Bakeoff Competition
Are you a skilled baker? Bring your favorite baked cranberry recipe (enough for 3 judges to sample) between 12:00pm and 2:00pm. Judging will begin promptly at 3:00pm and prizes will be awarded to the top three bakers. If you choose to enter your cranberry creation, please provide an ingredient list with the dish to avoid any potential allergens. The competition is open to everyone and individuals may enter more than one recipe.

4:00pm Ms. Crantober Contest
Come dressed in your best Crantober outfit. You will be asked to give a speech telling why you will make a good Ms. Crantober. Judges will test your knowledge of cranberries with several cranberry “test” questions. This is a lighthearted contest for all ages. The winner of Ms. Crantober will receive a crown and a sash and is welcome to represent Middleborough Tourism at all their events and activities throughout the year. If you are interested in participating in the Ms. Crantober contest, please sign up ahead of time by calling the Tourism Office at (774) 766-6335 or emailing us at discovermiddleborough@gmail.com.
