Storytime  Wastson Park  Playground Braintree 10am
Summer Storytimes out in Braintree Parks starts again. Today, our location will be at Waston . Summer Storytimes continue July 15, 22, 29 and Aug 19 at various parks around town. Bring a blanket or towel for more comfort. We’ll gather under the shady trees.  July sessions are followed by an “Arts in the Parks” program presented by New England Historic, supported by a grant form Braintree Cultural Council, a local agency, which is supported by Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

Abington Library 1030am   Drop-in Toddler Time 
Join Miss Sandy (or Miss Heidi, or Mrs. Grimmett) every Monday morning at 10:30 AM this summer for our drop-in toddler time program! Toddler Time is a 20-minute program consisting of short stories, songs, scarf waving, egg shaking, and a puppet visit. This program is best suited for children ages 0-3. Monday Drop-In Toddler Time is on any Monday we are open. Our Toddler Times are funded by the Friends of the Library. Runs every Monday thru the summer!

Rockland Outdoor Storytime 1030am   Sunshine Stories & Songs
Come join us on the front lawn for some stories and songs followed by stamps!   **In case of bad weather, the program will be held in the Meeting Room.  runs weekly thru August 12th

Explore the Outback with the Heelers at Middleboro Library 1030am  Hop in Bobo and take a drive with Bluey and the rest of the Heeler family while learning about Australia. Enjoy many activities from the show during this drop-in program. Stations will be set up around the Library’s Large meeting room. Get ready for crafts, games and dance mode!

Bridgewater Library 1pm  Join Bridgewater Martial Arts for a FREE kid’s safety program at the library!  Kids will be taught simple and preservable thought processes to avoid abduction and assault. A small hands on portion will be taught at the end with some retainable technique. This program is open to kids ages 5-12.  Instructor, John Hatfield, is a nurse who has spent years submerged in adolescent psychiatric studies as well as operating a martial arts school for over 30 years. Experts from all over the country have been consulted in this simple course and the curriculum is easy to apply and remember.

Hanson Library  Throwback Movie Afternoon (Grades 6-12)  2:00 PM – 4:30 PM
Get out of the heat and enjoy a free afternoon movie on our big screen! You will have the opportunity to vote for your favorite throwback movie, and we’ll have DIY nachos and Dunkaroos to snack on.  Registration required to ensure availability of supplies.

Kids ages 8-12 are invited to join us on Monday afternoons at the Main Library from 2-4 PM for our weekly Creativity Cafe! Each week we will have a variety of craft supplies available and a craft prompt to spark your creativity.  Repeats all July & August

Rockland Library  Meal Time Magic with Ed the Wizard  3pm
Come learn how to perform easy magic tricks with items you would find at the kitchen table! Watch Ed the Wizard perform his trick, guess how the effects were performed, then peek behind-the-scenes to learn how each routine was accomplished. With Ed’s help you will have the opportunity to learn and practice several magic effects for yourself using cups, plates, handkerchiefs and napkins. Ed will donate his magic book to the library for future reference. Ages 7 and up. Parents must accompany children under 10 years old.  Registration is Required

Bedtime Story Hour returns this summer at the library! Kids ages 4 and up, who are able to separate from their parent/caregiver are invited to wear their coziest PJs, bring a stuffed animal friend, and join Miss Amy every Monday night at 6:30 PM. Bedtime Story Hour is thirty minutes of longer stories, songs, rhymes, and the chance to “Go Bananas!” Our Story Hour programs are funded by the Friends of the Library. runs all summer

Learn about our Environment AT Sunset Lake 10am
Meet us at Sunset Lake for an educational program on our environment, with Hillary Waite of Braintree’s Stormwater Division. We’ll gather in the shade to look at a model of a town and what might pollute it. Hillary will present other interesting info, and then explain and show the Rainwater Garden of Sunset Lake. Best for children ages 5 – 11. Sunset Lake is on Safford Street, off Franklin Street.

Milton Library storytime  10am & 1045 am Join Ms. Tory for a storytime full of music and dancing located in the Keys Room on the Lower Level of the Library. Ages 0-5.  (This program repeats at 10:45. Pick whichever time works best for you! repeats weekly thru July 16th

Animal World Experience  North Quincy Library    2:00—3:00 PM  Join Matt from Animal World Experience on Tuesday, July 16th at 2:00 pm at the North Quincy Branch for a live animal show.   Our animal visitors will be a surprise but there will be time to pet them all as Matt tells us about some fantastically furry animals.  This program is recommended for children ages 4 and older accompanied by an adult. Parents please stay close to younger children and help them to be gentle with the animals.

Hanson Library  Preschool Playmates! (Ages 0-5)  4:00 PM – 5:30 PM
Caregivers and children ages 0-5 are invited to a playdate at the Hanson Public Library! Join us anytime between 4:00pm and 5:30pm for some unstructured play featuring puzzles, coloring, train table, activity cube, and more. Drop in for an afternoon of fun and meet some new friends!  Drop in program, preregistration not required. This is not a librarian led program. Young children must be supervised by an assigned caregiver at all times.

Braintree Library Pajama Party Storytime with Miss Meghan the Story Lady
Kids are invited to wear pajamas to “Pajama Parties Storytimes” on Tuesday evenings.Tonight is the first one, presented by Miss Meghan, the Story Lady. There will be stories, music and movement. Then children can make a craft to take home. Come Jammie Jam at the library.  Best for ages 2 1/2 – 4, but open to all children.  Miss Meghan will continue “Pajama Parties/Jammie Jams Storytimes”on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 through July 30 .

Drop by the Wollaston Branch Library any time from 9:30 am-12:30 pm to participate in Cardboard Construction. Build a tent, a cabin or anything else you want out of cardboard and other odds and ends. We’ll have plenty of craft materials available to spark your imagination as you work with other kids and parents to make the biggest and best cardboard construction we’ve ever seen! This project will take up most of the floor in the children’s section and collaboration is encouraged!

Scituate Library  Mama Steph Tickets Required  10am
For Children Ages 0-5 Along with Their Caregivers*  Mamasteph brings her traditional children’s songs for sing-alongs and musical stories to the Scituate Town Library!  FREE TICKETS ARE REQUIRED to attend this program on a first come, first served basis. Starting the Monday before the program, stop by the library to get tickets anytime during our normal business hours. Please note that tickets often go quickly and will likely not be available the day of the program. Ticket pick up is limited to six (6) per patron.

Braintree Library Playroom Drop in Playgroup 10am   Families and caregivers may stop in on Fridays anytime between 10:00 am and noon for informal fun with other  children. Little ones, ages infant to four, can enjoy Duplos, extra Train Tracks and Train Table , MagnaTiles, and puzzles.   There will be board games out for school age children as well
