Many of the Summer Storytimes are outside in Braintree Parks. Today, our location will be at Lincoln Park. Lincoln Park is at the corner of Hobart Street and North Bowditch Street. Bring a blanket or towel for more comfort. We’ll gather under the shady trees for stories, songs and a craft.

Abington Library 1030am Drop-in Toddler Time
Join Miss Sandy (or Miss Heidi, or Mrs. Grimmett) every Monday morning at 10:30 AM this summer for our drop-in toddler time program! Toddler Time is a 20-minute program consisting of short stories, songs, scarf waving, egg shaking, and a puppet visit. This program is best suited for children ages 0-3. Monday Drop-In Toddler Time is on any Monday we are open. Our Toddler Times are funded by the Friends of the Library. Runs every Monday thru the summer!

Beat the heat (and rain ) and enjoy a free movie at the library on the big screen! The animated film tells the story of a family of ducks dreaming of the perfect getaway vacation. Mack, the overprotective father, cannot take the risk of traveling from New England all the way to Jamaica. When his two kids, Dax and Gwen, try to convince him to take the leap, Mack must navigate the tricky route through New York City while keeping his family safe.

Easton Library Block Party 2pm Lego your boredom and come to the coolest block party in town! Starting on June 17, drop by Queset House every Monday from 2:00 – 3:00 PM to free-play, topple, and construct with a variety of building materials, including giant, fort-sized blocks! Outdoor blocks can be found in the Walled Garden on sunny days. Ends August 19th No registration is required for this self-led program. Children of all ages and their families are welcome
Lego Time at Scituate Library 4pm Drop-in Program for Students in Grades K -5: 4-5pm Led by our fantastic Master LEGO Builders ( aka Teen Volunteers!), come build for an hour with the library’s collection of LEGOs! Each session will offer a different and fun building challenge for you and your friends to try. We’ll display your creation in the children’s room between meetings! Guardians are required to stay in the Library while kids attend Lego Club.

Whale Day at Quincy Public Library 2:00—4:00 PM Children of all ages are invited to join us on Tuesday August 20th from 2:00 -4:00 pm for a whale of a good time! We will have a special whale storytime, crafts, puzzles and more in the large meeting room. Out in the atrium you will meet Nile, a life size inflatable Humpback Whale. Children ages 6 and older will be able to go inside Nile for a half hour presentation by the Whalemobile on whale anatomy, similarities and differences between whales and humans and the crucial role whales play in our planet’s ecosystem. Space inside the whale is limited so each group will be capped at 20 individuals per session. There will be plenty of other activities for you to participate in while you wait for your turn.
Design a Park using ideas from Landscape Architecture. What would you put in a park? Would you include a zoo, playground, pond or pool? What about hiking and biking trails or a skateboarding zone? Learn some factors that go into making a plan, so you can decide about yours. Then create an outline and details of your ideal park. For ages 7 – 12. Landscape architecture is the design of outdoor areas, landmarks, and structures to achieve environmental, social, or aesthetic outcomes. Held in the Stained Glass Tower of the Children’s Room. No sign-up needed

Come enjoy one of your favorite films in a brand-new way! As you watch, wait for specific movie moments to be spurred into action! Reach for the sky, sing, growl, eat snacks, and just keep swimming! Each child will receive a kit full of movie magic to use during the screening. Our interactive movie nights are intended for children ages 3 through 12. All movies shown will be feature, full-length films rated G or PG. Please note: if your child is not yet reading independently, you’ll need to sit with them to help them read the script and play along. Separate registration is required for each child and will open two weeks prior to the event. Space is limited

Sharon Library at Crescent Ridge Story Time! (All Ages) 11am Join us for some story time fun outside this summer. We will read books, sing songs, play games, and more! Registration is not required but encouraged so you get notifications about weather related cancelations. This story time will be outside in the sun so remember your sunscreen! Feel free to bring a blanket, chairs, picnic and whatever else will keep you and your little ones comfortable. In the event of bad weather, Story Time will be moved to the Community Room at the Sharon Public Library. Announcements will be made here in the calendar, via email, and on social media if it is moved indoors. Story time will be held in the field next to the diary bar. Look for the goats and white tent. Stop by the Wollaston Branch on Thursday afternoons this summer for free-play LEGO building. Grab some LEGO bricks and build a boat, a spaceship, a double-decker couch – anything you want, then toss them back and try to make something else. LEGOs must be returned by the end of the program, sorry!
