LEGO Building @ Wollaston Library in Quincy Ages 5+ 2-4pm
Stop by the Wollaston Branch on Wednesday afternoons this summer for free-play LEGO building. Grab some LEGO bricks and build a boat, a spaceship, a double-decker couch – anything you want, then toss them back and try to make something else. LEGOs must be returned by the end of the program, sorry! Repeats all summer long
Ed the Wizard: Pirate Party at East Bridgewater Library 3pm
This event is for ages 7-11. We play Pirate themed games such as: “Swab the Deck,” “Peg Leg Pete,” “Hot Cannon Ball,” “Walk the Plank,” and more. Attendees’ knowledge of famous pirates and events are tested, i.e.: “Why did Pirates wear an eye patches?” (It is not what you think!) Participants receive their own treasure chest, eye patch, pirate hat, and balloon sword as we finish with a Pirate Treasure Hunt where patrons search for hidden Treasure to collect and take home.
Ed has an 8’ long, 9’ tall Pirate Ship facade that he sets up and is available for photo ops and around which we play our games. Weather permitting to hold the program outside!
Quincy Library Playful Engineers Ages 5+ 230-4pm
Wednesday, July 92:30—4:00 PM Join Playful Engineers on Wednesday, July 9th at 2:30 to design, build, test, and play with chain reactions and creative contraptions, like Rube Goldberg Machines, paper constructions, domino towers, exploding popsicle-stick snakes, and other awesome engineering explorations. Quincy Library Bubble Play for Ages 3 and older 10am Join us on the Olmsted Lawn at the main library and grab a tub of bubble solution and a spot on the lawn to blow some bubbles! We will have plenty of bubble makers to experiment with. Can you make giant bubbles? Little tiny bubbles? Can you make bubbles with your hands or do you need a bubble wand? Find out if a square bubble wand makes square bubbles.
Parents, this is sure to be loads of soapy, soaking fun so make sure your children are dressed to get messy! This program is recommended for children ages 3 and older. For children under 3 we will have some special tubs of bubbles made with no tears baby shampoo.
