The Kingston Parks & Recreation Department offers a variety of summer programs for children of all ages. Activities include art fun, LEGO club, Minecraft club, technology club, and more. K-Rec Konnect – Kingston Residents Only
Program Details:
Location: Reed Community Complex
For Kids in Grades K – 8 (based on the current 2024/2025 school year)
Dates: Weekly sessions from July 7th – August 15th
Limited Spots Available! Register early to secure your child’s place.
Program Options:
Half-Day Program: Monday – Thursday, 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Full-Day Program: Monday – Thursday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Please pack a lunch and afternoon snack.)
Field Trip/Special Event Friday: Times to be determined. Will be a few hours in the morning. Families will drop off and pick up at local field trip locations.(Available only if your child is registered for Monday–Thursday of that week.)
Important Notes for Parents:
Rainy Days: We’ll provide rainy-day options inside, though activities will be limited due to space.
Heat Advisory: For safety, the program may be canceled on days with extreme heat.
Gearing Up for Kindergarten

Join KES teachers Mrs. Leavitt and Mrs. Lunde for 4 days of fun and learning as we get students ready for Kindergarten. We will focus on math readiness skills, covering number formation, number sense (counting sequence, concept of quantity) and problem solving. Students will then enjoy literature components of reading ( phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension ) handwriting. Students will work executive functioning skills to assist them in becoming an independent learner!
Gearing up for Grade 1

Join KES teachers Mrs. Leavitt and Mrs. Lunde for 4 days of fun and learning as we get students ready for Grade 1.
We will focus on reading readiness skills ( phonics, phonemic awareness, decoding and encoding, and vocabulary). Students will read literature of various genres, write in journals, write stories and respond to literature all while working on handwriting skills as well. In math we will work on number sense, specifically counting and basic addition and subtraction math stories. This week of learning will help your child feel ready for Grade 1.

Students will read literature of various genres. We will focus on building upon their reading skills , focusing on phonics, (including trick words), vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. Students will practice their encoding and decoding skills. Students will also work on shoring up their math skills in number sense and place value. preparing them for Grade 2. We will focus on word problems as well.

All of the Greg Carter European Hockey Training Camps focus on individual skill development (ISD) to help students become more complete players. Through our unique drills, students will improve their control, agility, reflex, technique, edge, and muscle retention skills. Our ISD approach enables our students to learn each skill in a controlled environment and then apply speed and game situations to complete the lessons. My Gym Kingston Summer Camp
My Gym Kingston offers summer camps designed to keep ages 3-8 children active and entertained. The camps include a variety of physical activities tailored to different age groups, ensuring a fun and engaging experience.
We will be running our Summer Drop off Program starting in June-August. We have created this program for children that need a small steppingstone to an independent class, that miss the kindergarten cut-off or to help boost confidence and following directions in an active setting. Its Themed weekly and is always Fun and engaging for ages 2.10 – 9 yrs old/ Children are split up into age-appropriate groups:) We are running these classes Mondays & Wednesdays 10:15-12:45 and Tuesday & Thursdays 12:30-3:00.
