Drop-in for some summer indoor fun! A variety of toys will be set up for you to enjoy with your child in the Community Room. Little Bee Yoga   at Abington Library 1pm  Miss Christine of Little Bee Yoga returns once a month on Mondays from 1:30 – 2:15 for our little yogis ages 3-5 and their caregivers. Participants need to bring a yoga mat or a towel and wear comfy clothing. This is a drop in program- no registration necessary. Namaste

Norwell Library  Monday Matinée Movie: Ice Age The Meltdown  2pm
Beat the heat and catch a movie! This week’s selection is Ice Age the Meltdown (2006) rated PG. A synopsis is available here. Bring a blanket to sit on and snacks if you wish– but please no peanut products. No registration. Caregivers must remain with children under the age of 8.

Braintree Library Storytime AT Adams Park 930am  We will have Storytime at Adams Park, which is at corner of Commercial St and Adams St. Best for ages 2 1/2 – 4, but is open to all children. Bring a blanket or towel for added comfort. There will be stories and songs with Miss Elisabeth, followed by a Storywalk and Craft available to all. It is presented by Kate Hooper of Historic New England.  A Storywalk is when each page of a book is posted separately in an outdoor area. People walk around to each page to read it. It encourages movement in nature. If there is rain, the Storytime, Craft and Storywalk will take place in the Children’s Room of the library.

Outside it may be hot and sunny, but in here, we’re ready for spooky season! Grab some LEGO bricks and build a boat, a spaceship, a double-decker couch – anything you want, then toss them back and try to make something else. LEGOs must be returned by the end of the program, sorry! Create a board game to take home and play. We’ll provide some possible pictures and possible paths. You decide how you want to make it. For ages 6 – 12.  No registration needed. Held in Logan Auditorium.

Some animals like sharks, snakes and spiders we think of as scary, but are they really when we learn more about them? Many seemingly “scary animals” have really important jobs in nature, even helping people! See giant megalodon shark teeth and don’t miss meeting some not really so scary animals too!

Quincy Library  Kids Concert: Matt Heaton for ages 4+  10am  Matt Heaton believes music for kids can be entertaining for both children AND parents. His songs blend mid-century American guitar styles: surf, rockabilly, western swing & soul, delivered with a wry sense of humor and a sincere sense of fun. Kids dance, laugh, and sing along. Grown-ups appreciate the Muppet-esque touches of humor and observations of kid behavior. Call it children’s music, family music, kindie or toddlerbilly it’s sure to please listeners of all ages.  No registration required. Weather permitting, we will hold this event outdoors on the lawn.
